Role Model’s “No Place Like Tour” stopped at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on April 1. This indie-pop singer-songwriter, born Tucker Harrington Pillsbury, took the road following the release of his sophomore album, “Kansas Anymore,” and his deluxe album, “Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye),” which was playing sold-out shows worldwide.
The line to enter The Wiltern wrapped around the block with hundreds of fans in anticipation of the show.
The night started with an incredible set from opener Debbii Dawson. Her 10-song set was just the right balance of emotion and energy. She kept the audience engaged and built up their energy setting the perfect pace for the rest of the night.
After a short break between sets, Role Model took the stage to thousands of screaming and cheering audience members.
Role Model played a 19-song set with a mix of new songs, older songs and even a cover of The 1975’s “Somebody Else.”
At every show during the second to last song of the set “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” Role Model brings up either a fan or special guest to be “Sally.” The crowd started screaming when Dylan Minnette, the lead singer of Wallows, came up and danced around the stage with Role Model.
Role Model put on an amazing show and created a fantastic night filled with the contagious energy of enlivened and engaged fans.
