Chapman HUA held its first event on Feb. 15 and celebrated Lunar New Year. Students gathered to participate in cultural activities, eat food with friends and learn about the cultural clubs on campus.

Freshman art history major Rylie Shimabukuro and senior business administration major Jessica Miyasoto celebrated Lunar New Year at the Chapman HUA event.

(From left) Senior business administration major Anika, Miyasoto and sophomore data science major Diego Fondevilla made paper lanterns at the event.

Aside from paper lanterns, students could also make bracelets at the craft table.

Other cultural clubs tabled at the event, including Chapman Kapamilya, the Asian Pacific Student Association (APSA) and the Taiwanese Student Association (TASA). The cultural clubs talked about their meetings, gave out prizes and played games with people who stopped by their tables.

Chapman HUA saw an excellent turnout for their first event of the year. People loved the activities and chatted away at the tables in between meals. If you want to learn more about HUA, check out their weekly meetings on Mondays from 8-9 p.m. in Argyros Forum 119B!
